Why Teachers Are Well-Placed For Internet Marketing and Making Extra Money
Seven good reasons for starting an on-line business if you’re a teacher. Other professionals may take a look too, I suppose!
You may not think you know much about marketing yet, but generally:
- Teachers are intelligent and receptive. Setting yourself up as an on-line business involves sifting through a wealth of information and learning new skills.
- Teachers are good at instructing and simplifying. There are many opportunities for supplying useful information (such as the information in ezine articles like this). If you see yourself as a sponsor of new recruits you’ll need to be good at helping them to get started.
- Teachers are good at persuading. You’ll be advertising, setting up an on-line presence and using your powers of persuasion to encouraging people to buy your products.
- Teachers (especially English teachers) are already aware of the power of words. You have an advantage over other advertisers and marketers because you don’t need to be shown how important the right words are. Internet marketing is totally centred on words.
- Teachers are not easily fooled. You have to be wary and selective. There are a lot of sharks out there who know exactly how to part you from your money. I know this very well. Many claims have to be taken with a pinch of salt!
- Teachers can find time in the holidays to set up their on-line businesses. Of course you need a rest and you need family time, but you have more opportunity than most to prepare for your future. Once your business is set up and profitable, it can work for you when you’re busy teaching. If you do really well you won’t have to teach anyway!
- Teachers are good at staying motivated. It’s unlikely you’ll get rich quick. It takes time and patience to get going and there may be disappointments from which you will need to bounce back!
